Pre-departure

Two decades of dreaming, one year of planning and copious moments of joyous confusion have lead me to the brink of farewell and I can't decide which 2 piece leather jumpsuit to bring. Life is rough. I had my various goodbye dinners, parties, brunches and cocktails with my absolutely fabulous family and friends whom I will so greatly miss. Y'all are awesome simply for putting up with my sass and mildly villainous tendencies and for that I thank you. The champagne and constant attention were lovely as well. I'm not sure if I will translate as easily to the locals in Port Elizabeth but I believe so deeply in trying that I am spending 50 some hours in transit to find out. I am a pendulum swinging wildly between ecstasy and pissing my pants nervous in some surreal dimension that constantly craves avocados. It's awesome.
Many of you will try to wish me luck on my year long travels through South Africa and beyond but I vouch you to save it for yourself. I found a four leaf clover when I was six and let's be honest, if it's gotten me this far, I think it can assist me for a few more thousand miles. I love you all and thank you for the support that has truly made this journey possible. This is where you smile and think of the ugliest face I can make. Go.
